The stories that matter
I suggested going to the world press photo exhibition last week but any excuse was good to postpone it. 'Too bored!' 'What is this stuff?' Finally, this morning, thanks to a rainy day-off, I got them all to visit it.

So, here we are in front of the first picture: some girls are learning to swim in the Zanzibar archipelago. This is not such an obvious opportunity in a place where women who wear a bikini are seen as a violation to the Islamic culture. What a good start.
Each of us chooses his own 'itinerary' and stops in front of the picture that strikes him the most. Every photo is food for thought and for current events. Not those that we are used to hearing during the news. In this case, the 'speaker' is the subject in the picture, who tries to tell and communicate something: a mood, a truth or a culture.
Dear friend in and around Turin, I think you should go and see the exhibition. I tell you this even if I've stopped to watch news. However, everything that teaches us something that we didn't know before deserve to be considered. I tell you this, because what you are going to see are really "the stories that counts".
