La Mozzarella In Carrozza - Oven baked carnival “tortelli”
Oven baked Carnival tortelli, delicious and lactose free treats filled with Nutella.

- 250g All purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- Pinch of Salt
- 1 Egg
- 1 Yolk
- 1 tbsp Liquor
- 50ml Peanut Vegetable oil
- 70g Sugar
- Zest of one lemon
- Nutella or jam, for the filling


- On a working surface mix flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Make a hole in the middle, add in the egg and the yolk, than pour the vegetable oil and the liquor. Add also the lemon zest and the sugar. 

- Knead all the ingredients until they come together. Wrap the dough into plastic and let chill for 15 minutes.

- Divide the dough into two pieces and roll them out 5mm thick. Place some teaspoons of Nutella (or jam) in the middle of one strip than cover with the other one. Use a round cutter to shape “tortelli” and arrange them over a Baking tray lined with parchment paper. Knead the leftover and make tortelli until you have finished the dough.

- Bake tortelli at 180 degrees for 15 minutes, until slightly golden. Once ready, let them cool down before dusting with icing sugar.
